Since witches don’t have much of a need to maneuver about the level or expose themselves in any way, you’re usually stuck hitting every single object within your vision with your infinite potatoes. Witch hunters on the other hand feel like a bit of a chore. Witch gameplay, despite being sedentary most of the time, is actually the most fun you can have in the game. It can also be a good bit of fun using the witch skills that distract and generally annoy your opponents as things like the “decoy” ability give you the sense of teasing a cat with a laser pointer. The tools offered to you can certainly help (like the disorienting mushroom in particular), but the witch hunters have plenty of tools of their own that can make it a tough prospect. The second most fun aspect of the game is when you are found and you have to try to escape, which is not only the most dynamic aspect of the game but probably the most difficult too. The odd adrenaline rush you get when they’re trying to discover you hiding in the shape of a wooden crate in a pile of random props and is one that I can only remember from being a kid and playing hide and seek in a really good hiding spot. It seems easy at first, and it can continue to be easy depending on who’s on the opposing side, but playing against the mediocre can even be fun. That’s essentially your job in the role of a witch in Witch It. It’s weird to have fun with the objective of sitting perfectly still and just looking around.
